The Glass Hotel
by Emily St. John Mandel
This book is very different from the dystopian civilization presented in her previous story, “Station Eleven”, which is now being adapted into an HBO series. A large glass hotel, in the midst of a small island in Canada, is the victim of a crime.
This is the background for the history of the many people who inhabit the hotel, their connections and associations, under the influence of their owner, an investor in a lucrative scheme. Very compelling and engaging, it truly has been one of the only “serious” books I’ve wanted to read during these uncertain times.
