How do I set up an account?

 Setting up an account is a one-time process that will help streamline your experience with new library catalog.

Once you have created a username you will no longer need to remember your library card number, and you will be able to place holds, renew your materials, and check your account with a single click.

If you forget your username, your library card barcode will always work as a login.

1. Begin at our catalog: http://winnetkalibrary.bibliocommons.com/ or http://northfieldlibrary.bibliocommons.com
2. The login prompt is on the right hand side of the page. Enter your barcode and password. If you have not changed your password in our previous catalog, the default password is “patron"
3. When logging in for the first time, you will be asked to confirm your name and enter your birth date. The catalog asks for birth date information only as a protection for children under 13
4. Providing your birthday is optional. However, if you do not choose to enter a birthdate you will not be able to choose your own username and some account features will be limited
5. When you are finished, hit continue
6. Next you will choose a username and enter an email address
7. In the future you will be able to log in with this username instead of your library card number
8. Entering an email address is optional. When you're done, hit the Terms of Use checkbox and press the orange "Register" button
9. And your account is made!
