About Us

The North Suburban Genealogical Society (NSGS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1975. Its purposes are: to promote an interest in genealogy; to encourage and instruct members in careful, documented genealogical research; and to publish genealogical and historical information.

Membership Benefits:

Take advantage of the many benefits of joining NSGS:

  • Friendly folks who will share their interest and expertise in genealogy with you.
  • Eleven monthly meetings featuring knowledgeable speakers on topics of genealogical research. Each meeting begins with a problem solving and computer usage Q&A discussion.
  • Bi-monthly 8-page newsletter with a broad array of material pertinent to genealogy.
  • Writers' groups — smaller groups that meet in members' homes to encourage the writing of family histories.
