The themes for the 4th Annual Children's Video Fest are:
Who's your hero? - Pick your favorite literary hero and make a video about them. This video can be live action or animation. Maximum length of the video is 3 minutes.
Or How do you do that? - Make an infommercial about something in the library for instance, how do you look up a book? How do you place a hold?
Videos must contain at least three of these additional elements.
How you choose to use these elements is entirely up to you and no additional information will be provided. Please include you choice of elements in your final credits.
You have a choice. You can enter in any of the above categories, or you can submit a video for the Keep it Short screening.
KEEP IT SHORT - An additional screening category FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
Show us your best short video. There is no content guideline for this screening, as long as the entries respect the rules listed below. We will be having a mini-fest on Saturday, December 11, 2010 to screen these videos for the public. Please limit the length to 5 minutes.
Students in grades K-12 who attend school or reside in the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District are invited to submit videos. Students from outside the District who have been involved in previous years of the fest who meet the age requirements will be allowed to participate. Only non-professional original videos produced by students will be accepted. Adult assistance can be provided with acting or handling of video equipment under direction of the student director. All videos must be suitable for a family audience. Videos depicting violence, pornography, racism, sexism or profanity will not be considered by the jury.
Entries will be accepted from either an individual or a group. In a group submission, the age group is determined by the grade that the student director is in at the time of submission.
In the case of multiple directors, the age group will be determined by the grade level of the oldest student.
Any music or images used must be original, or, if copyrighted, each team is responsible for obtaining written permission for music or images used.
Submitted copies become the property of the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District and will be shown on the Library's website. Winning entries will be screened at the Winnetka Main Library during the 4th Annual Studio 60093 Children's Video Fest on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Entries will be displayed on the website with title, category and age.
