Renewing Materials Online


You can renew items using the online catalog or our Online Renewal Form in addition to calling the Library at (847) 446-7220.



The Online Catalog


You can renew your books using the online catalog renewal page.

Please enter your library barcode on the back of your card without spaces. The password is PATRON in capital letters. (Please note that you can create your own personal password by clicking on "My Account." Click on "User PIN Change" and follow the directions as prompted.)


Click on "List Charged Items." "Charged items" refers to all materials that you have checked out.


You will see a list of all the items you have checked out. Click on the button "Renew Selected Items" if you only want to renew specific items. Click on the button "Renew All" if you want to rewew every item you have checked out. To finish, click on the blue button at the bottom of the page, "Renew Selected Items."


Please note that you might not be able to renew every item. If you have any questions, please call the Main Library at 847-446-7220 or the Northfield Branch at 847-446-5990.



Online Renewal Form


You can use the Online Renewal Form at the bottom of this page to renew some items that you have checked out. You can only renew books owned by the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District when using this form. Please note that you might not be able to renew every book.


Some interlibrary loans require special handling.  If you have an item acquired through interlibrary loan, see the interlibrary loan page for more information.


At the bottom of this page, choose the number of books you want to renew and click on the "Select" button. You will then be taken to the Online Renewal Form. You need to fill in all the fields in bold.


After you have filled out the form, click on the "Submit Form" button. Please note that by pressing the "Clear Form" button you will erase all the information on the form.


You will receive an e-mail within 24 hours confirming that your request was received and processed. If you have any questions, please call the Main Library at 847-446-7220 or the Northfield Branch at 847-446-5990.
