The Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District and BiblioCommons share in the belief that privacy is the cornerstone of open and engaged communities. Both have implemented the standards described in their privacy statements to protect your privacy. By registering your library account in the new catalog, you agree to the terms of BiblioCommons' Privacy Statement and Terms of Use. The library also has a privacy statement that can be found on our web site at http://winnetkalibrary.bibliocommons.com/info/privacy. The Privacy Statements and Terms of Use can be accessed anytime through the links at the bottom of each page in the new catalog.
Safety and privacy for minors
Birth date information in the catalog is used to identify accounts for minors. If you are a minor, for privacy and safety reasons some features will not be available to you. In the United States, minors are not able to send or receive messages, create a username, or write comments. The username you create can consist only of a color and an animal, in order to make sure your username cannot be used to identify you.
Tips on Privacy:
Just like on any web site, be careful what you share.
You can create lists, ratings, reviews, comments, and contribute various types of content to enrich the new catalog for yourself and others. By default, your comments are open to all other users of our catalog system worldwide, not just those at this library. You can keep your lists private if you choose. You benefit by being able to use and enjoy the enhancements to our catalog added by hundreds of thousands of other library users in the United States, Canada, and New Zealand (at this time).
